Official Swift-Arm Community Releases

The latest releases of Swift 4 from the Swift-Arm Community are now available in a new apt-get repository.

To install the repository:-
curl -s https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/swift-arm/release/script.deb.sh | sudo bash

The following packages are available:-

  • Raspbian Stretch / armv7 / RPi2/RPi3/RPi3+ – sudo apt-get install swift4
  • Raspbian Stretch / armv6 / RPI1/RPi0 – sudo apt-get install swift4rpi01
  • Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 / armv7 / – sudo apt-get install swift4
  • Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 / arm64 / – sudo apt-get install swift4
  • Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 / arm64 / – sudo apt-get install swift4

NOTE: For armv6 Raspberry Pi’s use – sudo apt-get install swift4rpi01
NOTE: If you get this error – Unable to locate package swift4 it means there is no package available for your device/OS system.

  1. Hi, Thank you for these packages, but I’m getting a failed install for swift5. I already have clang-7 installed properly and it want’s to overwrite it.

    ubuntu@LPA-1:~$ sudo apt-get install swift5
    Reading package lists… Done

      Thanks for reporting this issue.
      I have just upload a new package `swift5_5.0-v0.2` for Ubuntu 18.04 with a fix for this problem.
